Favorite Pastime

I got exactly what I wanted for Mother's Day. It just came a week late.

look who's standing up all by herself!

On Sunday afternoon, we got good 'n' barefoot and had a picnic at the park.

Perfect weather.
Favorite people.
Wholesome food. Eating sandwiches on bread we'd baked the night before.
Plenty of sunshine. A gentle breeze.
No sweating. No hurrying. No crying. And just one ant.

Pictures with my children - don't have many of those, it's something I'm trying to remedy (it's tough when I'm always on the other side of the camera). I want them to know what some of our days together looked like. I want them to have visual proof that my favorite place to be was close to them.

  1. First of all, yay Lily! She's growing up too fast. Second, good job as the photographer Nate! And lastly, why are you up at 6AM writing your blog!?!

  5. How's your bread baking going? I checked out a book from the library this week called The Tassajara Bread Book - I have been loving it. Thought you might want to check it out.

Love your picnic blanket - what a great idea!

  6. So sweet! That is one thing I always tell my new mommy friends...to hand their husband the camera more often. There are far more pictures of Dave with the kids, than of me. I love that you had such a beautiful day together. Your family is just wonderful.

  7. I love that toothless grin! What a sweetie! I can't believe she's standing up -- in just a few years, she'll be roller skating circles around you! And I love your hankie blankie -- I may just have to copy it!

  8. THat is my favorite past time too, just being with my kids outdoors on a beautiful day.
You look so cute in the pictures with your precious children...they are lucky to have you.
And I can't believe she's standing already! Audrey just barely learned to crawl! (but she is a little slow)
