Boy Scout Ready Already

the day his second grade class hiked Table Rock he took it upon himself to be super prepared.  this kid loves to pack up, get ready, set up, anticipate any need that might arise and plan for it.  he brought one of our large family backpacks, a plastic bug habitat, a small lantern, a "field journal" and pen, a hat.  and he wore his watch (he never wears his watch).  and, of course, he wore smart hiking shoes, a sweatshirt in case there was a chill in the air, and packed an extra healthy lunch

i put a love note in his lunch - i think he's getting too old for that, kind of embarrassing.

ready, ready!  could not love this child more.
